Gun Control

In light of the latest mass shooting in FL, and at my late age, I cannot hold my tongue any longer on the matter of gun control.  If you're pro-gun, I'm NOT talking about taking away *your* gun(s), although, the *exact* wording of the second amendment is:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I, personally, feel that's quite well defined.  First, notice the word "regulated?" That's pretty clear, don't you think?  Next, we have no "Militia" anymore, nor a need for one, as existed back then. And finally, "bear Arms." You can't be sure but an AR 15, the favorite weapon of the mass-murderer, is more than your 'typical' "Militia"-type weapon of the 18th century, don't you think?  Why would *anyone* need that type of weapon, and what possible purpose could it serve on a daily basis?

Now before you starting claiming that I have no business pushing my beliefs on you, pretend, just for a moment, that you're a parent of one of those kids from Florida.  Still feel I'm 'crying wolf'?  No, I thought not. I'm not being "political!"  I'm being a caring human!  We *all* have an obligation to *do* something....now!  I applaud people that can reach a wide audience, who, not only take a stand, but shout out the facts (and there's really no such thing as "alternate facts," people.  That's called "propaganda." ;-)

The plain *fact* of the matter is that more guns = more gun-homicides <http://www.nber.org/digest/feb01/w7967.html>.  It's really that simple.  This is not a case of eliminating either gun ownership or gun-homicides.  Neither is possible! But it IS possible to lower the gun-homicide rate by lowering gun ownership.

And you can pick just about anything else as an example.  Want less of anything?  Then decrease the # of those things available!

P.P.S. And if my message above causes me to lose business, then that's just the way it is ;-)  I'm 65 and I've seen a few things and I'm not going to my grave (eventually) without, at least, trying to do something about these horrible shootings!
